Running with Asha
Asha for Education is a volunteer run organization aiming to catalyze socio-economic change in India through education. The objectives of the group are:
- To provide access to education for underprivileged children in India
- To promote universal education and decrease child labor
- To support grass roots initiatives in deprived and marginalized communities in India
- To address, whenever possible, other issues affecting human life such as health care, environmental and socio-economic issues, women's issues, human rights issues, etc.

Our special project interest is Digital Haritha, which is based on Digital Study Hall. This project seeks to record lessons/demonstrations by excellent teaches and distribute them to schools in villages where good teachers are not available. Please watch this video to get an overview of the project.
Divi and I committed to running the DRC half marathon (13.1 miles) on November 1st, 2009 and raise $1500 for Digital Haritha and other projects supported by Asha Dallas.
