Running with Asha
Asha for Education is a volunteer run organization aiming to catalyze socio-economic change in India through education. The objectives of the group are:
- To provide access to education for underprivileged children in India
- To promote universal education and decrease child labor
- To support grass roots initiatives in deprived and marginalized communities in India
- To address, whenever possible, other issues affecting human life such as health care, environmental and socio-economic issues, women's issues, human rights issues, etc.

Hi Folks,
Thanks for visiting my Asha web link. Some of you may know me personally but lot of you may not. For those who don’t know me, I was born in India, lived half of my life in Japan, moved to US about 10 years back and ever since then, been a resident of America. In year 2009, I decided to make a difference in this world…in my own small way…that had nothing to do with my personal goal or with my family…but for a cause, a good cause…for someone…that has nothing to do with me or my family…and so…here I stand…
Finish Line
To achieve that aim, I joined Asha in their cause to raise funds and to show my personal commitment towards this cause, I decided to train and run the White Rock Marathon on December 13th 2009 which I was successfully able to achieve. Even though it took me looong 5 hrs 30 minutes to complete the 26.2 mile marathon run, it made me very happy. More than being happy about being able to finish the marathon, I felt proud that I did it for a good cause.
This web link, that I have created, is supposed to be a window to give you an opportunity to make a positive difference in this world in your own good way. Asha donates funds towards education of under-privilidged kids in India and I feel there is no better way to en-power a child than giving the child a chance to get educated and a choice to compete in this tough rigid world. For this, I have setup a donation link that sends 100% of the proceeds towards the Asha projects in India. From the kind of reputation Asha has, every penny of your fund would be used at the best of the ability in the education of kids in India. The amount of donation is not important and I don’t expect everyone visiting this link to donate either. Your contribution also depends on how much you are into these kind of things. If you are not, then you are not…and its perfectly fine. On the contrary, I am sure there are some that are already committed to other organizations…and still some that might want to continue doing it for multiple organizations.
So friend, even if you do not donate, I thank you for visiting my web link.
