Running with Asha
Asha for Education is a volunteer run organization aiming to catalyze socio-economic change in India through education. The objectives of the group are:
- To provide access to education for underprivileged children in India
- To promote universal education and decrease child labor
- To support grass roots initiatives in deprived and marginalized communities in India
- To address, whenever possible, other issues affecting human life such as health care, environmental and socio-economic issues, women's issues, human rights issues, etc.

Jwala Vedantam
As I never jogged or ran before, preparing for Marathon is all about stretching my limits (Physical, Mental and Emotional) and going beyond the comfort zones that I am accustomed to. This is making me realize that we can accomplish far more than what we think we can ……. Thanks to all the Ashra runners for encouraging on this endeavor especially my good friends Vamsi and Deepika.
While we all are lucky enough to have friends, relatives, teachers, co-workers to help and encourage us in realizing our potential, can we play a similar role in the lives of less fortunate children whose limitations are created by not having basic education.? Can we help them realize they are much more capable than they can ever dream of? Whatever little help we can provide goes a long way in shaping their lives and in turm the country - and ultimately the world - they live in.
