Welcome to Team Asha Dallas!

BigD 2007
TEAM ASHA is a premier endurance sports program that trains people for half and full marathons and relay races. Team Asha gives one the chance to discover not only the magical benefits of running but also the supreme joy of affecting the life of a child with every progressive step. Our objective is to provide every runner with the means to change their own lives and the lives of countless children, for the better. Our six- month training program mixes running and cross-training with social activities and a lot of fun. Returning runners and involved mentors add a personal touch to the training and help you with not just running a marathon but leading a healthy lifestyle as well.
Since 2007 the Dallas chapter has helped more than 50 participants, from newbies trying to get back into an active lifestyle (get off the proverbial couch!) to seasoned athletes, to train and successfully finish half, full and relay marathons.
In its first year more than a dozen runners participated in the Whiterock marathon training for over 6 months and successfully completed the marathon or half marathon runs. The team successfully raised more than $20,000 to support education related projects in India. In 2008, (Video of the Program) more than 25 runners successfully trained with Team Asha and the Dallas Running Club to raise funds for the projects supported by Asha. A kids relay marathon team was also formed by the Kids/Youth chapter and raised more than $2700 themselves.
Strides of Hope is our largest fundraiser for Asha for Education supported projects across India. Asha Dallas supports 14 projects and more than 60% of funds are raised through our marathon program. Please visit our projects page to learn more about our projects.
